The strings are spaced about 30 cm apart, so if you want a denser look, you can just hang them closer together to customize the width. The vertical strings unwind like springs, allowing you to stretch them to any height you need. We even clipped them at the bottom for a bouncy, playful look. I bought the 3x3 size and it fits perfectly on a 2.5x2.4 area.
