I think it doesn't really make you look slimmer. In Chengdu, this pair of pants is fine for winter when temperatures are above 0 degrees, but it's not enough for the northeast. The outside feels nice, soft cotton, but the inner lining isn't very dense. Overall, it's pretty good and warm enough for Sichuan winters. The black color does pick up lint a bit.

I have wider hips and a small waist, so the L-tall size is just the right length.
