It's not actually bamboo, and after a few days of use, the base where the pot sits changed color and started to peel off when I rubbed it gently. On closer inspection, it looks like it's just a sticker, and inside isn't bamboo but rather what seems like cheap compressed board that's not water-resistant at all.
