Please avoid storing coffee powders, and store only degassed coffee beans (14 days from roast date stated on the bag). Degassing is a natural occurrence that occurs from dark roasted beans (eg. Nanyang Kopi, Starbucks, Lavazza) or freshly roasted ones (check for the roasted date/inflated coffee bag for visual reference, before using the canister).• You can rid the air quicker by frequently opening the canister and stiring up the beans. Frequently re-twisting is also a recommended step as guided by Fellow Products USA website.• If a vacuum is not forming, please ensure that your canister is at least 3/4 full of beans. Wipe the underside metal mesh and ensure that the lid is sealed shut.• Notch on rubber ring is a design feature.
