The wood balls get a nice sheen after applying de-greased olive oil and letting them sit for a bit. Wipe them dry with a towel. Playing with them every day makes them even more beautiful and shiny. The patina becomes glossy and solid. I applied oil on the rosewood chopsticks, pear wood rolling pin, and rosewood surface shaft too.

Just started using it, not sure how well it works yet, but it looks pretty good.
