The Canon R6 Mark III was only recently launched in early November and became available for sale in late November. I purchased it on Cyber Monday with a nice 10%+ discount off the retail price, along with a free 512GB CFexpress Type B card, which made the deal even more attractive.\n\nI took the camera to East Coast Park for a test run, pairing it with the Canon RF 100–400mm f/5.6–8 lens, and managed to capture some great shots of squirrels, parrots, and kingfishers. As an existing Canon R8 user (which shares the same sensor as the Canon R6 Mark II), the most noticeable improvements for me are the approximately 33% increase in resolution and the pre-capture function, both of which are very useful for wildlife photography.\n\nI have yet to fully explore the video capabilities. That said, the R8’s 4K video is already sufficient for my YouTube content, so I may not fully utilize all the advanced video features of the R6 Mark III. Overall, this is a genuine and worthwhile upgrade from the R8.
