I bought this mat for two purposes: one is for picnics, and the other is to lay under the straw mat in an air-conditioned room to prevent dust and moisture. After receiving it, I soaked it in a bucket of water for almost 2 hours, then hung it in the bathroom. Once it stopped dripping, I air-dried it on the balcony. I made a spray using white vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio and sprayed it every half an hour to successfully get rid of the plastic and rubber smell. The color is also to my liking, so I'm satisfied.
