I've always used a traditional hula hoop, and when I didn't have a waist protector, it would really hurt my back. This waist protector is super soft, so when the hard hula hoop hits, it doesn't hurt at all. The support strips also help keep my waist steady, and it's less likely to fall off while I'm spinning. Now I can keep going for 30 minutes, and I sweat more in my waist and abdomen than I did after 20 minutes before. The results are even better!
