Is the magnet strong? YEAH. As strong as it needs to be! Are the hinges tight? ROCK SOLID. The tension is on the high side for some joints, but that's probably a good thing for actual usage anyway. Is the build quality good? ABSOLUTELY. Like a tank, even though it's probably mostly aluminium as the body is not magnetic. It's also why the thing weighs quite a bit less than I expected it to.\n\nThe rotating 360 swivel on the body is chef kiss. Wish it were on the head joint but you get what you can get.\n\nOnly gripe is that the little rubber feet on the base are REALLY thin. If you're hanging this on you don't want to scratch eg a monitor screen, I'd advise placing a layer of something soft in between...\n\nFive stars. From someone who uses this to record some hobby video on phone :-)
