Giant 6, which was originally scheduled to be released in the summer of 2020, was delayed until after the spring festival in 2021 due to the epidemic and multiple proofing, modification and testing. compared with the design and production of previous generations of giants, giant 6 has taken more thought and energy. The biggest pressure actually comes from the reputation of the five-generation giant statue. the huge problem faced for a long time is how to break through. after five generations of replacement, the giant collection seems to have reached a relatively good goal in the range of small and medium-sized balls and comprehensive yo-yos. so how to break through the bottleneck has the designer himself racking his brains. Alright, let's start by taking a look at the evolution of the colossus 6 prototype. The first version of the prototype retained the spherical shape of the giant 5th generation, but the front was changed to the popular simple style grids, that is, the streamlined structure of "no nipple and no top finger". but the problem that came with it was that the front was too simple and did not match the multi-faceted spherical style grids on the side. there is no big improvement in feel and performance compared to the giant 5th generation, so it is scrapped. The second version of the prototype directly increased the size to 56mm, turning the "giant" into a full-sized ball. this was an experiment. some testers liked this version, but it wasn't a complete failure, nor was it a success. it seemed to deviate from the original intention of the "giant" – a comprehensive ball in a small to medium size – both in terms of feel and dimensions. if all "giant" balls were made with large diameters, there would be no small to medium-sized balls on the market. therefore, it was scrapped. The third version of the prototype was redrawn based solely on memories and concepts of the colossus design, and it's the closest version to the final product. however, the spherical shape is too rounded and full, making it uncomfortable to grip. the outer ring is also too heavy, with stability taking precedence over overall performance, which doesn't align with the colossus' intended comprehensive performance. therefore, further improvements are necessary. Since the modification plan for weight distribution has been determined, the fourth version of the sample only needs to confirm the spherical adjusted grip and is completed by 3d printing. After several rounds of revisions, shipping, and feedback collection, the finished giant 6 product is finally here. it lives up to the entire team's expectations for the next generation of giants.
